Why Doesn't the SD Card Record Videos?

Quick answer: If the SD card is not recording videos, first check whether it is installed correctly and whether the card capacity appears in Device settings > Storage management. If the card is detected but still fails to record, the SD card may be fake, damaged, full, or poor quality.

1. Check Whether the SD Card Is Installed Correctly

Make sure the SD card is inserted correctly into the camera. Then open the app and go to Device settings > Storage management. If the card is installed properly, the card capacity should be displayed there.

What to check:

  • The SD card is fully inserted into the camera slot.
  • The app shows the SD card capacity under Storage management.
  • The camera recognizes the SD card before you expect it to save recordings.

2. Use a Reliable Brand SD Card

We recommend using a reliable brand SD card, such as SanDisk or Samsung. A fake, damaged, or poor-quality SD card may appear in the app but still fail to record videos correctly.

A poor-quality SD card may cause these problems:

  • The card capacity is displayed, but no videos are saved.
  • The card records only a few videos and then stops.
  • The card cannot overwrite old files after it becomes full.
  • Playback fails or saved videos are missing.

3. If the Card Is Full, Check Whether It Can Overwrite Old Files

Some fake or low-quality SD cards may not overwrite old files correctly once the card becomes full. If your SD card records only a few videos and then stops, replace it with a reliable brand card and test recording again.

Note: This page does not require a specific app name. Use the app connected to your camera and look for Device settings > Storage management to check whether the SD card is detected.
