How do I check the WiFi frequency band?

How do I check the WiFi frequency band?

1. On a Computer
1.1 Windows:
Click the WiFi icon in the bottom-right corner of your taskbar → Right-click your connected network → Select "Properties" → Scroll down to find " Network Band"
1.2 macOS:
Hold down the Option (⌥) key on your keyboard → Click the WiFi icon in the menu bar → Look for the “Channel” entry in the pop-up window, which will display the band.

2. On Phones & Tablets
2.1 iPhone/iPad:
Go to Settings > WiFi → Tap the information icon ( i ) next to your connected network name → The band information will be displayed on the details page.
2.2 Android Phone/Tablet:
Go to Settings > WiFi or Network & Internet → Tap the name of your connected WiFi network → Look for a "Frequency" field on the connection details page (on some models, this might be under "Advanced" settings)

Note: Due to the variety of Android manufacturers and OS versions, the exact menu names (like “WLAN” vs. “Wi-Fi”) and the location of the frequency info may differ. If you don’t see it immediately, try looking in the “Advanced” or “More settings” section of the connection details.

3. Check the router itself
Look for labels on the router or in its manual. Many dual-band routers will have separate network names for each band, like "MyWiFi_2.4" and "MyWiFi_5".
