Do I need to subscribe to a SIM card data plan to use the camera?

Yes, this is a 4G camera. It’s designed for areas without WiFi and uses SIM data to stay connected for normal operation. 
Live view, cloud uploads, motion-triggered activation, and remote control all require a network connection. Without data, the camera cannot function properly.
